Blogger's Blogspot Country Domain Redirection | Advantages & Disadvantages

Google has started country specific URL for blogger blogspot in February 2013. With this change a user from india will visit the indian version of URL and same with other countries. for example a web address myaddress.blogspot.com is visited from India, this URL will be automatically redirected to mywebaddress.blogspot.in.

Many of webmaster's on internet are in favour to stop this redirection with a JavaScript. Some of the code works and some not. Perhaps there are benefits of using this code to stop the redirection but there are disadvantages too.

Blogger's Blogspot Country Domain Redirection | Advantages & Disadvantages

Advantages and Disadvantages of Blogger's Custom Specific Domain Redirection:

before creating and writing for a blog at blogger platform you must aware to the disadvantages to disadvantages.

Disadvantages of Blogger Country Specific Redirection.

Let's discuss advantages first one by one.

1. If you are using adsense on your website then you must have to enter each version of your URL to prevent losing money. for example if your address is mysite.blogspot.com then must enter mysite.blogspot.in, mysite.blogspot.jp and all the variants other wise you may lose money. So avoiding this redirection and set all your visitors to .com will not lose your money.

Add all version of  you blogger URL's to Adsense to ensure that your earning is not losing anywhere.

2. You have to submit each version of URL to search engine and directories for proper ranking and SEO Marketing. (This is not very important)

3. Your social ranking (e.g. Likes, Shares) for each version of URL will be different. for example if a visitor is visiting and sharing your website from India will not be counted to you main .com domain. To explain with more detail below is a simple example:

yousite.blogspot.com (30 Facebook Share, 20 Google Plus Like, 200 Tweets)
yoursite.blogspot.in (10 Facebook Shares, 10 Google Plus Likes)
yoursite.blogspot.co.uk (5 Facebook Share, 10 Tweets)

4. More chances to get disapproved permanently for Adsense due to Sneaky Redirect Policy of Google AdSense.

Code method is actually not good for the blog user running adsense ads on their website because the code method to stop redirection is against the policy of Google Adsense.

How the code works to prevent country specific redirection?

Suppose a user from India is serving your site (mysite.blogspot.com) so at the first stage mysite.blogspot.com will be redirected to mysite.blogspot.in but at the time of loading Indian version of your site the code you implemented in HTML to stop redirect will redirect again mysite.blogspot.in to mysite.blogspot.com.

mysite.blogspot.com > mysite.blogspot.in > mysite.blogspot.com

With using this code method your one page view will be counted by 2 in you blogger stats.

Advantages of Blogger Country Specific Redirection.

Well there are much benefits using .blogspot domain.

1. Blogspot supports HTTPS encrypted connected which is preferred by search engines in ranking. User on your website will server your content thorough and encrypted and secure connection. So HTTPS will increase trust value of your website to search engines which will cause high ranking.

2. Your website will be indexed in local search engines. You may get rank in all search engines by the time. for example yandex will index your website's URL as yousite.blogspot.ru in search results same with other search engines.

3. Blogspot domain is easy to get approved for Google AdSense. Just complete the basic tasks and apply for Google Adsense, I hope you will be approved to show advertisement on your website. But your account will be hosted (that's not matter)

4. Using blogspot domain you may get many dofollow backlinks  for Blogspot FREE.

Final Review:

I will suggest you not to stop redirection from country specific URL's to main URL instead of this use default country specific domain because it is profitable for you.

If you like the post please share with internet. and post you suggestion and ideas to make this post more informative and useful for the users.
